The undercut – shaved on the sides and long on the top – will continue to be one of the edgiest hairstyles this summer. This dual-identity look has a soft, yet fierce vibe that will continually turn heads.
Made a favorite by the likes of hair trendsetters Rihanna, Cassie, and Jada Pinkett-Smith; the undercut can be styled simply shaved, or more creative by adding your own personal touch with designs or disconnection.
For maintenance, brush cut daily with a boar bristle brush then add shine with Sleek Max Edge Control or Design Essentials Diamonds Oil Sheen Spray. But to really keep your cut on point, be sure to visit a professional hairstylist or barber for a fresh trim ever 2 weeks.

And this is definitely the case with the asymmetric bob this summer.

This summer, balayage hair color will be the new ombre!  But what makes balayage hair color unique is that it’s created with a freehand technique instead of using the traditional highlighting technique. The selected tresses are highlighted emphasize your cut, frame your face or accentuate the overall look.  As a result, expect hair color with depth and dimension, yet still looks very natural.

Check out this video with YouTube Vlogger Naptural 85, as she explains her in-salon experience with balayage hair color, as well as a great Q&A session at the end of the video explaining the pros and cons of coloring her natural strands.

Summer Hairstyle Forecast # 5 –  Messy Braids

Braids aren’t going anywhere this summer!  But they are changing in regards to how they are worn. The messier the better; and that goes for all braided styles, fishtail braids, goddess braids, french braids, milkmaid braids, etc.

For a messy effect, the trick is to gently loosen and lift the braid with a rat tail comb to create texture and volume.  Finish and add shine with Hydrience Argan Moistnure Repleishing Mist. Next, tame down flyaways with Form Holding Spray or Sleek Edge Control if needed.
